Performance
Tim is a highly versatile performer with more than 25 years professional performance experience. His playing career takes in a huge variety of styles and ensembles, including commercial pop, latin, big band, music theatre, classical and commercial orchestral work, contemporary music, and Bollywood.
Since 2009 he has been the featured trombonist for iconic UK ska / punk band The Specials, including international touring, live and studio recording (including the recent albums Encore and Protest Songs), broadcasts including Later with Jools Holland and The Late Show with David Letterman, and major festivals including Glastonbury, Coachella, Lollapalooza, V Festivals, and WOMAD.
Tim also works in musical theatre, currently as the trombone / bass trombone chair holder for the hit musical The Book of Mormon, written by the creators of South Park.
Previous chairs in the West End include Legally Blonde, La Cage Aux Folles, Lend Me A Tenor, as well as working as a deputy on Chicago, Wicked, Shrek: The Musical, and Acorn Antiques, alongside UK touring shows.
He also performs with The Heritage Orchestra, including collaborations with Pete Tong / Ibiza Classics recordings and tours, Tim Minchin UK tours including live CD and DVD recording at the Royal Albert Hall, Goldie's Timeless, Sparks, The National, John Cale, Unkle, Anthony and the Johnsons, and the film soundtrack for 'Black Water Transit'
